Mixing kinetics and scale-up in a Turbula powder mixer

Abstract : The aim of this paper is to define criteria to extrapolate results – in term of homogeneity of a real powder mixture - from laboratory scale to those obtained in pilot scale in TURBULA devices. This study is based on modeling mixers, with Solidworks, connected to experimental work. It has been demonstrated that tests realised for same accelerations on the surfaces of tanks mixers lead to mixture having similar coefficients of variation.
