Etude du comportement de la protection foudre face à un impact mécanique

Abstract : On aircraft, lightning strikes are common and usually harmless: electrical energy travels the body without damaging the structure. With composite solutions, it is no longer possible to rely on the protective effect “Faraday cage”. Therefore a metal shield is added to the aeronautical composites. But mechanical low energy impacts can have a significant influence on the mechanical behavior of the composite. We propose here to study the behavior of the impact and post-impact of this type of structures. Materials with and without protection were subjected to mechanical tests in order to determine their mechanical performance.
